Avenue in the Yakimanka District of the Central Administrative Okrug in Moscow

Lenin Prospekt is part of the Donskoy, Gagarinsky, Lomonosovskym, Obruchevsky Districts. It expands from Kaluzskaya Square to the Moscow Ring Road. Lenin Prospekt was named by the Moscow City Council on December 13, 1957, commemorating revolution leader, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. In the 1960s and 1970s, the streets adjacent to the Lenin Prospekt were named in honor of the leader’s relatives and friends. After Moscow’s expansion in 1960, the name Lenin Prospekt was extended to Kievskoye Highway within the Moscow Ring Road. Lenin Prospekt is the second-widest street in Moscow, and its width ranges from 108 to 120 meters.
