BOL. POLIANKA STREET

Street in the Central Administrative Okrug of Moscow 

Bolshaya Polianka Street is in the Yakimanka District of Moscow and runs from the Maly Kamenny Bridge to Serpukhovskaya Street. The street received its name at the end of the 18th century after the “vspolye” located at the beginning of the street and the adjective “large” was added later in the 19th century. In the 17th-18th centuries, it was called Kosmodamianskaya Street after the Church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian in Kadashevskaya, which was demolished in 1933. In 1918-1922 it was called Sovetskaya Street.
