Ministry of Transportation Office Building

Historically, the Russian Ministry of Transportation was built as the Khludov heiresses’ apartment building. The large-scale building is located on Rozdestvenka Street and Teatralny Proezd.  The building was constructed at the end of the 19th century by the architect Lev Kekushev, but in 1934, it was entirely rebuilt under architect Sergei Chernyshev. After the October Revolution, the building hela the Moscow Municipal Economy Department. The final renovation of the house involved building three more floors with administrative finishes.
