ROSTOV EMBANKMENT

Located on the right bank of the Moscow River

The Rostov Embankment is in the Khamovniki District, between the Smolenskaia and Savvinskaya Embankments.

Rostovskaya Embankment received its name in the 19th century from the Rostovskaya Sloboda, which arose in the 15th-16th centuries. In the 17th century, this area housed the Blagoveshchenskaya, or Berezhkovskaya, Sloboda of the Rostov Metropolitan, built in the Rostovskaya Sloboda in 1412 and destroyed in the 1950s. In the north, from the Borodinsky Bridge side, Rostovskaya Embankment is a continuation of Smolenskaia Embankment. From the south, Rostovskaya Embankment turns into Savvinskaia Embankment.
