NOVOKUZNETSKAIA METRO STATION

Located on the Zamoskvoretskaia Line 

The Novokuznetskaia Station is located between Teatralnaia and Paveletskaia Station, in the Central Administrative Okrug of Moscow. It got its name from Novokuznetskaia Street, next to its location.  Novokuznetskaia was built to the design of architects Ivan Taronov and Nadezhda Bykova. The station is a deep-laid, three-vaulted pylon structure. The station opened on November 20th, 1943, at the same time as the Paveletskaia Station. The station has many intricate murals with the following themes (starting from the exit to the city: “Gardeners”, “Steelworkers“, “Mechanical engineers”, “Builders”, “Aviators”, “Skiers”,  “Shakhtyory”, and “Parade of athletes”.
